Summary

The City Schools

Established in 1978, The City School has witnessed phenomenal growth and success attributed to its high quality standards and pedagogical leadership. Today, after 30 years of providing academic excellence, the school is internationally renowned as the premier institution in South Asia as City School continues with their innovative, progresssive methods of teaching. With their guidance and direction of Dr. Dania Qazi, Director of Studies at City Schools, Lahore Pakistan Campus, they will be joining OLK12 to further enhance their learning environment for their students, teachers, and administrators. City School will participate with one district to begin with. Targeting about 1,000 students and over 100 teachers. OLK12 will establish an online infrastructure for City Schools. This will enable their student body to not only be able to view and listen to a variety of media uploaded by their teachers, but they will also be able to interact with classmates, upload assignments, view grades, see upcoming homework, etc. Student course materials in the form of free video lectures, audio podcasts, and digitized textbooks will all become available online. The lectures are instructor led, however models will be supplied in case of necessity where instructors can customize and use something existing. OLK12 is intent upon working closely with the instructor according to his or her preferred method of discourse. The software also has the ability to create and showcase student work portfolios. First, teachers are able to access and evaluate student abilities, working with them to ensure competencies have been met. Then, the student is able to create a portfolio based on their best work to share with other academic institutions as well as potential employers.




Makini School

Makini School's will pilot the Online Learning Initiative in three of its schools. Targeting several classes per level: Junior, Middle, and Upper; OLK12 will create an infrastructure where students will be able to access homework, assignments, and lectures from anywhere they may be. Teachers, likewise, will be able to access and grade student work while answering their questions from anywhere they may be. Additionally, they will be able to assess and evaluate student abilities, working with them to ensure competencies have been met. Students will be able to create a portfolio based on their best work to share with other academic institutions as well as potential employers and family members.
